low block
Martial arts defense
A low block is a defensive move in martial arts where the arm sweeps downward to deflect attacks aimed at the midsection or legs.
It's one of the first techniques taught in karate and taekwondo: She executed a crisp low block to stop the kick.
The arm typically crosses the body before dropping to protect the lower torso.
