louvre
Ventilating window feature
A louvre is a window or opening fitted with angled slats that allow air and light to pass while keeping out rain and direct sun.
The slats themselves are also called louvres.
Louvred openings appear in doors, vents, and architectural features: The attic had louvred vents on each gable.
Also spelled louver in American English. (Capitalized Louvre is the Paris museum.)
