loss of citizenship
Stripped of belonging
Loss of citizenship is the termination of a person's legal status as a citizen of a country.
This can happen voluntarily through renunciation or involuntarily through denaturalization—when a government revokes citizenship for fraud, treason, or serving in a foreign military.
Statelessness may result if no other citizenship exists: He faced loss of citizenship after the tribunal's ruling.
