lolcats
Meme-worthy kitty pics
Lolcats are images of cats captioned with humorous text, typically in broken English with intentional misspellings: I can has cheezburger?
The phenomenon emerged in the mid-2000s as an early internet meme format, spawning a distinctive style sometimes called "lolspeak" that spread beyond cat pictures.
The term combines LOL (laughing out loud) with cats.
