logging out

Ending your session

Logging out is the act of ending a session on a computer, website, or application, typically by clicking a button or selecting a menu option that terminates your authenticated access.

It's the opposite of logging in.

When you log out, you signal to the system that you're done and want to secure your account from unauthorized access.

Don't forget to log out when you're finished using the public computer.

The phrase is also written as one word: logout (noun) or log out (verb).
