live shots
On-air field reports
Live shots are real-time video segments broadcast from a location outside the studio, typically featuring a reporter speaking directly to the anchor or audience.
The term is standard in television news: We're going live to our correspondent for a live shot from the scene.
Live shots require mobile transmission equipment and careful coordination with the control room.
