delayed broadcast

Not shown live

A delayed broadcast is a radio or television program transmitted after its original recording or live occurrence rather than in real time.

Networks use delayed broadcasts to accommodate time zones, allow for editing, or remove objectionable content: The West Coast saw a delayed broadcast of the ceremony.

The term also applies to sports events shown hours after they happen, often marked "not live" to warn viewers.
