liquid phase
Matter flowing freely
Liquid phase refers to one of the three classical states of matter, distinct from solid and gas phases.
In chemistry and physics, phase describes a region of uniform physical properties, so liquid phase specifies conditions where a substance flows freely but maintains a definite volume: Water exists in the liquid phase between 0°C and 100°C at standard pressure.
The term appears frequently in discussions of phase transitions and phase diagrams.
