limestone ridge
Karst terrain feature
A limestone ridge is an elongated elevated landform composed primarily of limestone, a sedite rock formed from calcium carbonate.
Such ridges often develop through differential erosion, where the harder limestone resists weathering while surrounding softer rock erodes away.
They may contain caves, sinkholes, and other karst features: The trail followed the limestone ridge above the valley.
