light stick

Snap-to-glow tube

A light stick is a plastic tube containing chemicals that glow when mixed, activated by bending or snapping the tube to break an internal barrier.

Light sticks provide portable illumination without batteries or flame, used at concerts, Halloween, emergencies, and military operations: The kids waved light sticks at the parade.

Also called glow stick.
