lexicographic order
Alphabetical sorting method
Lexicographic order arranges items the way words appear in a dictionary—comparing element by element from left to right.
For strings, "apple" comes before "banana" because 'a' precedes 'b'; "cat" comes before "cats" because shorter strings precede longer ones when otherwise identical.
The concept extends beyond letters to any sequence: numbers, coordinates, or data elements.
The function sorts the list in lexicographic order.
