alphabetical sorting
Dictionary-style ordering method
Alphabetical sorting is the arrangement of items according to the sequence of letters in the alphabet.
Names in a phone book, words in a dictionary, and files in a folder are typically alphabetized.
The method compares first letters, then second letters when firsts match, and so on: apple comes before banana, and cat before cattle.
