letting in
Opening the door
Letting in is allowing entry.
You let someone in through a door, let in fresh air through a window, or let water in through a leak.
Figuratively, letting someone in means sharing private information or including them in something exclusive: She finally let me in on the secret.
To let yourself in for something is to expose yourself to trouble: You don't know what you're letting yourself in for.
