legal entity
Can sue others
A legal entity is any person, organization, or structure recognized by law as having rights and obligations—able to own property, enter contracts, sue, and be sued.
Corporations, partnerships, trusts, and government agencies are legal entities, as are individual human beings.
The concept allows abstract organizations to act as unified actors in the legal system: The company is a separate legal entity from its owners.
