league night
Scheduled group competition
League night is a designated evening when members of a recreational sports league—bowling, darts, pool, softball—gather for organized competition.
The term implies regular scheduling and social obligation: Sorry, I can't make it Thursday, it's league night.
For participants, league night structures the week around friendly but committed play.
