latte liberal
Upscale urban leftist
A latte liberal is a politically left-leaning person perceived as wealthy, urban, and out of touch with working-class concerns—the type who espouses progressive causes from expensive coffee shops.
The term is dismissive, suggesting someone whose liberalism is more lifestyle accessory than substantive commitment: Those latte liberals in Brooklyn don't understand real America.
