last testament
Dying person's document
A last testament is a formal document declaring how a person's property should be distributed after death—the full legal phrase being "last will and testament." The redundancy exists because will and testament once had distinct meanings in English law, now merged.
By extension, any final statement of beliefs or wishes before death: The letter served as his last testament.
