landing platform
Where aircraft alight
A landing platform is a flat, stable surface designed for aircraft or spacecraft to land on.
The term often appears in contexts where conventional runways aren't practical—helicopter landing platforms on ships or rooftops, drone landing pads, or futuristic spacecraft docking areas: The pilot guided the chopper toward the offshore landing platform.
In video games and science fiction, landing platforms are ubiquitous features of spaceports and stations.
