kvetching

Persistent vocal discontent

Kvetching is complaining or whining, especially in a persistent, nagging way.

From Yiddish, the word carries a sense of habitual griping about minor grievances: Stop kvetching about the weather and enjoy the day.

A kvetch is both the act and the person who does it—someone who complains constantly about everything.
