Shapeshifting fox demons
Kitsunes is the English plural of kitsune, a fox spirit from Japanese folklore.
These supernatural creatures grow additional tails as they age, up to nine, with more tails indicating greater power and wisdom.
In anime, games, and fantasy fiction, kitsune appear as shapeshifters who often take human form: The kitsunes in that game can disguise themselves as villagers.
