joint property
Mutually held assets
Joint property is ownership shared by two or more parties, each holding rights to the whole rather than separate portions.
The term appears most often in marriage and business contexts: They held the house as joint property.
Joint property typically includes rights of survivorship—when one owner dies, their share passes automatically to the remaining owners rather than through a will.
