jaw popping
Joint clicks audibly
Jaw popping is a clicking or snapping sound from the temporomandibular joint when opening or closing the mouth.
It often accompanies chewing or yawning and may indicate jaw misalignment or joint dysfunction: My jaw popping has gotten worse since I started grinding my teeth.
The term also describes deliberately cracking the jaw, similar to knuckle cracking.
