ingression

Act of entering

Ingression is the act of entering or going in—the opposite of egress.

The word appears mainly in technical or formal contexts: water ingression into a building, ingression of contaminants into a system.

In philosophy, particularly Whitehead's process thought, ingression describes how eternal objects enter into actual occasions of experience.
