indoor sports
Sheltered athletic competitions
Indoor sports are athletic activities played inside buildings rather than outdoors—basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, swimming in enclosed pools.
The term distinguishes these from outdoor sports like football or golf, though many sports can be played either way: Tennis started as an indoor sport.
Indoor sports allow year-round play regardless of weather.
