field sports
Countryside blood sports
Field sports are outdoor activities involving the pursuit of wild animals—primarily hunting, shooting, and fishing.
The term is more common in British English, where it often carries connotations of traditional country life and landed gentry: He spent weekends at the estate enjoying field sports.
In American usage, the term may also include track and field events like shot put and discus.
