imitation game

Mimicry-based test

The imitation game is a test proposed by Alan Turing in 1950 to determine whether a machine can exhibit intelligent behavior indistinguishable from a human.

An interrogator communicates with both a machine and a person through text, then tries to identify which is which.

If the machine consistently fools the interrogator, it passes.

Also called the Turing test.
