idolatress
Woman worshipping idols
An idolatress is a female idolater—a woman who worships idols or false gods.
The word appears in religious texts and historical writing but sounds archaic in modern usage: The prophet condemned the idolatress for her pagan rituals.
Like many gendered agent nouns ending in -ess, it has largely given way to the gender-neutral idolater.
