hot whiskey
Heated Irish drink
Hot whiskey is an Irish drink made by combining whiskey with hot water, sugar, and lemon, often with cloves.
It serves as both a warming beverage in cold weather and a traditional remedy for colds and sore throats: I'll make you a hot whiskey for that cough.
Also called a hot toddy, though that term applies more broadly to any spirit prepared this way.
