horse trekking

Horse trekking is recreational horseback riding over extended distances, typically through countryside, mountains, or wilderness areas.

Unlike arena riding or short trail rides, horse trekking involves multi-hour or multi-day journeys, often with overnight camping or lodge stays along the route.

The activity emphasizes experiencing natural landscapes at a horse's pace rather than developing equestrian skills.

We spent a week horse trekking through the Scottish Highlands.
