homeboys

Close male friends

Homeboys are close male friends, especially ones from the same neighborhood or hometown.

The term emerged from Black and Latino urban communities in the late twentieth century and spread through hip-hop culture.

It implies loyalty and shared background: Me and my homeboys grew up on the same block.
