home visits
Care at residence
Home visits are trips made by professionals—doctors, nurses, social workers, teachers—to someone's residence rather than requiring them to come to an office or institution.
The practice allows assessment of living conditions, provision of care to those who can't travel easily, or evaluation of a home environment: The caseworker conducted home visits to check on the children.
In healthcare, home visits were once standard but are now relatively rare, replaced by office appointments.
