home ports
Ships' base harbors
Home ports are the designated bases where ships are registered, maintained, or regularly return between voyages.
A naval vessel's home port is where its crew is stationed; a cruise ship's home port is where passengers embark and disembark.
The term extends to any regular base of operations: Seattle was our home port for Alaska cruises.
To home port is to assign or be assigned such a base.
