home keys
Typing starting position
Home keys are the keys where fingers rest in standard touch typing—A, S, D, F for the left hand and J, K, L, and semicolon for the right, with thumbs on the space bar.
The small raised bumps on F and J help typists locate the home row without looking.
Return your fingers to the home keys after each reach.
