home folder
User's root location
A home folder is the default directory assigned to a user account on a computer, containing personal files, settings, and documents.
On Unix-like systems it's typically /home/username; on Windows, C:\Users\username; on macOS, /Users/username.
The tilde (~) often serves as shorthand: cd ~ takes you to your home folder.
