hiding food
Concealing your snacks
Hiding food is the act of concealing food from others, whether to save it for later, prevent someone from eating it, or keep consumption private.
Children hide food from parents; dieters hide snacks from themselves or judgmental family members.
The behavior can signal scarcity anxiety, eating disorders, or simply living with roommates who don't respect boundaries: I started hiding food in my room after my brother kept eating my leftovers.
