heritage villages
Historic community recreations
Heritage villages are outdoor museums or preserved settlements that recreate historical ways of life, typically featuring restored buildings, period artifacts, and costumed interpreters demonstrating traditional crafts and customs.
They function as living history exhibits where visitors experience how people lived in earlier eras: We spent the afternoon watching blacksmiths and weavers at the heritage village.
Some preserve authentic historic structures; others are reconstructions.
