hedge-hopping
Skimming the ground
Hedge-hopping is flying an aircraft at very low altitude, skimming just above hedges, trees, and other obstacles.
The term comes from military aviation, where flying low evades radar detection: The pilot went hedge-hopping across the countryside to avoid being spotted.
It can also describe any reckless low-altitude flying for sport or showing off.
