heater core
Dashboard heat source
A heater core is a small radiator inside a vehicle's dashboard that provides cabin heat.
Hot engine coolant circulates through it, and a fan blows air across its fins to warm the interior.
When a heater core fails, it typically leaks coolant onto the passenger-side floor, producing a sweet smell and fogged windows: The mechanic said we need a new heater core.
