hashcode
Computed identity number
A hashcode is a numerical value generated from data by a hash function, used in computing to quickly identify and locate items in data structures like hash tables.
Two identical objects should produce the same hashcode, enabling efficient lookups: The hashcode determines which bucket stores the entry.
Also written as two words: hash code.
