Harvest mice are tiny rodents found in Europe and Asia, among the smallest of all mice.
They build distinctive spherical nests woven from grass, suspended among tall stems in fields and hedgerows: We spotted a harvest mouse nest in the wheat field.
Their prehensile tails help them climb through vegetation.
The term also applies to similar small mice native to the Americas.
