harebell

Delicate blue wildflower

A harebell is a slender wildflower with delicate, bell-shaped blue blossoms that nod on wiry stems.

Native to northern temperate regions, it grows in meadows, rocky slopes, and open woodlands.

In Scotland it's called the bluebell, though that name applies to a different flower in England.

Harebells dotted the hillside.
