happy dance

Celebratory spontaneous movement

A happy dance is a spontaneous, often silly display of physical excitement when something goes well—jumping, wiggling, pumping fists, or flailing limbs.

The dance is typically brief and unselfconscious: I did a little happy dance when I saw my grades.

The term also works as a verb: She happy-danced around the kitchen after getting the job offer.
