groined
Having intersecting arches
Groined describes something built with or characterized by groins—the curved edges formed where two vaulted ceilings intersect.
A groined vault or groined ceiling features these architectural ribs radiating from columns or walls, common in Gothic cathedrals and Romanesque buildings: The groined arches of the crypt created pockets of shadow.
