great mother
Grandmother or exemplary mom
A great mother is simply a mother who is excellent at mothering—loving, supportive, and nurturing: She was a great mother to five kids.
The phrase can also mean a grandmother or female ancestor, though this usage is uncommon outside certain dialects. (Capitalized Great Mother is a mythological archetype.)
