grape tomatoes
Tiny oblong fruits
Grape tomatoes are small, oblong tomatoes shaped like grapes, typically sweeter and less watery than cherry tomatoes.
They hold up well in salads and snacking because their thicker skin resists splitting: I packed grape tomatoes in my lunch.
The name distinguishes them from round cherry tomatoes, though both are often sold in pint containers.
