grammar test
Language rules assessment
A grammar test is an assessment of someone's knowledge of grammatical rules and conventions—verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, punctuation, sentence structure.
Schools use grammar tests to evaluate language proficiency; employers sometimes include them in hiring processes: I bombed the grammar test in sixth grade.
The term can also describe informal judgments of someone's writing or speech.
