geeking out
Deep diving enthusiastically
Geeking out is indulging enthusiastically in a niche interest or specialized knowledge, often at length and with little concern for whether others share the passion: He was geeking out over vintage synthesizers.
The phrase implies both genuine excitement and a degree of social obliviousness—the kind of deep-dive conversation that loses casual listeners but delights fellow enthusiasts.
