gateleg
Folding table leg
A gateleg is a table with hinged legs that swing out like gates to support drop leaves, allowing the table to expand for use and fold flat for storage.
The design dates to the 17th century and remains common for space-saving furniture: a gateleg table in the breakfast nook.
