gasmen
Utility line workers
Gasmen is the plural of gasman—a worker who installs, maintains, or reads meters for gas utilities.
The term dates from when household gas was common for lighting and heating: The gasmen came round to check the pipes.
In British usage especially, the gasman is whoever shows up from the gas company.
