garden forks
Prong-tipped digging tools
Garden forks are digging tools with a handle and several sturdy prongs, used for turning soil, breaking up clumps, and lifting plants or compost.
They penetrate hard ground more easily than spades: I loosened the clay with a garden fork before planting.
Also called digging forks or spading forks.
